Got Brains?

For my fantasy project, I decided on transforming the living into an undead zombie. The photo I chose to manipulate is of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

 

The first thing I did was adjust the hue and saturation of her skin, eyes, and lips, darkening her eyes and draining the life out of her flesh features. Next, I worked on incorporating a skull to make her face appear more sunken in and bony and then used the liquify tool to reshape the nose, eyes, head, and mouth to fit better to it. Once the skull and face lined up, I moved around the opacity and fill settings, as well as the lighting, to make it blend in. I also added different layers of wounds and blood from images of makeup prosthetics I found. To make the hair look rougher, I utilized a combination of the burn tool, spot healing brush, and random strands I copied and pasted throughout the head. Finally, I turned down the vibrancy to make it all more lifeless and dull. 

 Overall, I wanted to change the picture enough that there was significant change, but not to the point that she would not be recognizable.
