Awareness Poster Concepts
The topic I chose to focus on for my poster project was pet health and disease awareness. I decided to go with this subject because I have a personal connection to it. Pets are important to many people and even just as much family as humans are, and they deserve to live healthy, long lives. Apart of accomplishing this requires being aware of risks and dangers that can threaten them.
Sketch 1 is a simple design of symbols, a heart, paw print, and plus sign/red cross. The design was one of the first ideas that popped in my head, and I think the minimalism says what it needs to be said without being confusing or complicated.
Sketch 2 is a drawing of Shih Tzu puppy, all bandaged up from getting her vaccinations to get protection from diseases. Again, I went with a more basic approach, but I overall think, in combination with the slogan I came up with, the puppy and her band-aid efficiently display the message.
Sketch 3 is a scene of a little puppy playing around and having the time of her life, blissfully unaware of the monster that lurks in her own backyard. For the design of the monster, diseases, I wanted to incorporate the image of a pathogen taking on the form of a creature. I also wanted to incorporate elements from the Grim Reaper to communicate how dangerous and evil disease really can be.
